Our Principles

Lots of people have been asking me recently about the name of the company, which ties in very closely to the principles on which Ethical Homes is built. The long explanation will appear shortly, along with a more thorough description of the principles, but in the interim here are some less elaborate explanations:

The Short Explanation

We are Ethical, and we help you with Homes. When you are dealing with us, you won’t get shafted, either intentionally or because of a mistake on our part; if for some reason you do get shafted because we’ve missed something, we’ll do everything that we can to make things right, rather than spending all of our time trying to avoid blame and liability.

The Slightly Longer Explanation

I’ve worked at many companies over the years, and even helped to start a few, and at every one of them, I felt as though one of the things that was missing was a sense of purpose. When I entered the world of real estate, then, I decided to build my newest endeavor around that sense of purpose, and create a company where every action was guided by a few core principles that I also happen to try to use when living my life; since (despite the recent corruption of the word to mean “morals” or “professional responsibility”) such a system of principles is the definition of “ethics”, Ethical Homes seemed like a natural name to use.

So, What Are These Principles?

Stored away in various emails are a slew of mini-treatises that I’ve written to try to explain my guiding principles to various friends over the years. I’ll be polishing them up over the next few months and posting them here, in addition to working them into the governing documents for Ethical Homes, LLC.
