Turnaround continues in Anacostia

A recent article in the Washington Post echoes comments that I’ve been making for quite a while on the positive opportunities to be found in Anacostia.
The historic neighborhood fell into disrepute in the 80s and 90s as crime and poverty led to the flight of solid middle-class families, which in turn led to further crime and poverty; as the Post article notes, however, Anacostia is beginning its resurgence, anchored by decreasing crime levels and increased homeownership. Buyers with a long-term outlook who are looking for a good value inside the city limits may want to take another look at Anacostia.
