Local-interest website DCist gives an update on continuing plans for the Southeast Federal Center area along the Anacostia river.

It would be nice if similar redevelopment attention could actually be focused on the other side of the Anacostia river, in the Anacostia neighborhood itself. That’s not to disparage the efforts of people like Yavocka Young at Main Street Anacostia (which is a laudable effort to bring a larger retail presence into Anacostia); it’s just sad to think of how much good all of the money being pumped into the area around the Nat’s new stadium site could do if it were spent across the river.
