HVCC Redux

Tags: , ,

One last link to a good discussion of the issues w/ HVCC.

As we’ve discussed here previously, HVCC is a very well-intentioned reform to current appraisals, whose implementation has been less than stellar. Marcie Geffner has nice article reviewing some of the issues with HVCC as it was implemented, and also including a counterargument from (of course) one of the appraisal management companies that has benefited the most from the new system.

At Ethical Homes, we still think that modern appraisals are a farce–but we think that HVCC as implemented is causing more harm than good, to both consumers as well as industry professionals and local real estate markets and economies. If you agree, please take five minutes to contact your Representative to indicate your support for HR 3044, a Congressional bill that would suspend HVCC for 18 months to give time for a proper review and rewrite of the regulations, as well as signing this petition to request a review of HVCC.
