Free Homes (With A Catch)

TAGS: None

Quantico Marine Base is giving away 58 houses to anyone who will take them.

The catch: would-be homeowners have to actually take them, as in remove them from the base, and find a new place to re-assemble them: these are Lustron homes–fabricated steel homes from the 1950s with a funky art-deco feel. For those who need a house that comes with land and no assembly required, one of the few remaining Lustron homes not owned by the government was for sale in Arlington last year and was, last I had checked, still unsold. If you’re interested in that one, drop me a line, and I’ll see if it’s still available.
